Entrecard

What sort of results have people had with Entrecard? Personally, I see a fair amount of traffic from it, and have gotten a few new readers, but most of the traffic is just there to drop a card and leave.

Anyone else seeing anything different?

I gave up a long time ago. I was spending too much time and effort dropping cards and reviewing ads and not all the ads people sent to me were appropriate, like a site for illegal TV show downloads, when I work with the studios to get interviews for my site.

I got lots of traffic but it had a huge bounce rate and and maybe one person stayed on and we ended up just trading links. I think that if you're in a certain niche it works better than not.

I did stop putting any effort into dropping cards. If I'm on a blog anyway and I happen to see the widget, I'll drop one, but I don't go out of my way to do it.

Huge huge bounce rate for me. Like 98% bounce rate. I've had 2 commentators that mentioned they came from Entrecard however, didn't return after they made the comment.

On the flip side, I've recently started advertising on other blogs and am receiving a fair amount of traffic from that... and they're not dropping and running.

Initially I thought that I'd give up and remove the widget. However, I've changed my mind on that and am still dropping cards now just to have the credits to advertise elsewhere. It's been really key for me to find good blogs to advertise on and get good click through rates with that. Strangely enough, a lot of bloggers are placing their Entrecard widget by their sponsored banners. Stupid in my opinion but works well for a good click through rate.

I've actually gotten a few readers and subscribers from Entrecard. I don't go crazy dropping cards like I used to. I figured that if advertising on my blog is low then it's better for me in the long run.

I'm keeping it and plan on adding it to Mickey FANatic soon.

Huge bounce rate for me too. I'm not a fan of it myself. I don't use it on one blog and will probably do away with it on another.

I pasted the EntreCard script into text widget; it seemed to work -- showing up on my page, but EntreCard's bots wouldn't recognize it.

So I search and find this page, but I don't see an EntreCard in sidebars of your posts, or your homepage. So how are we to know how well it works?
